RANT | Flashpoint Aftermath On The CW

Quick thoughts and rants especially after watching tonights episode of The Flash. [SPOILERS AHEAD] The Legends of Tomorrow Team returns to 2016 to team with Supergirl, Team Arrow and Team Flash. Jax and Professor Stein, AKA Firestorm 2.0, share a secret message with Barry Allen of 2016 that came from Barry Allen of 2056. It talked about how no one could be trusted including Barry Allen of 2016 because future Barry time traveled messed the timeline up again. The rest of the heroes find out and most of the them except for Green Arrow and Supergirl gang up on Barry to chastise him for changing the timeline and affect their lives, some for the better in my opinion. What feels off kilter about this is that here are a team of heroes that are chastising a mistake that one of the greatest heroes made when they have all made mistakes themselves that others lives. Oliver Queen, AKA Green Arrow makes some great points in that mistakes come with the territory of being a hero and also that Ba

REACTION | CW DC Mega Crossover

ORIGINAL POSTS: http://screenrant.com/arrowverse-crossover-sarah-supergirl-barry-message/ http://screenrant.com/supergirl-melissa-benoist-invasion-crossover/ REACTION: Tomorrow with Supergirl starts this year's DC CW Crossover events. First and foremost, I always felt that Supergirl should have started off on the CW network when it first aired it's freshman season on CBS. Now with it's second season on the CW, I felt that the events of "Flashpoint" (from The Flash) should have brought Supergirl to the same earth as Arrow, Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. This would balance out some of the dark tones happening on Earth-1 with Supergirl's lighter tone. With those quick thoughts out in the open, this week is unprecedented as it will showcase characters from all 4 CW DC Shows interacting with each other. From my perspective, those interactions are most likely to take center stage above the actual conflict of heroes vs aliens. Similar to an NBA All-Star Ga

REVIEW | Luke Cage Season 1

Image
Season 1 of Luke Cage has come and gone in the last month and so has Daredevil and Jessica Jones. With Daredevil the grittier version of CW's Arrow and Jessica Jones being a detective noir, there seemed to be unsure feeling of what to expect from Luke Cage's tone. Was this going to be a pure action show or even a drama? The answer is both an Action and Drama show. That combination brought us [SPOILERS AHEAD]: A Luke Cage character that we could relate with looking for a direction in life after a MAJOR change 2 street level villains including MAJOR villain, Diamondback, in the MCU that could rival some of villains in CW's Arrow such as Count Vertigo or even team with Daredevil's Kingpin (Imagine that ...) A cliffhanger tying Daredevil with Luke Cage with his arrest THE VERDICT: This is a show that offer truly original content on Netflix with an Origin story that while it uses the same Super Serum that Captain America uses, it has a different take on how

REACTION | Tyler Hoechlin's Super vs Christopher Reeve's Superman

Image
Screenrant  and  IGN  are raving how Tyler Hoechlin's Superman is getting it right over Henry Cavill's Superman. What makes this Superman a better fit is the throwback to Christopher Reeve's Superman. Let's take a look at the similarities as well as the references. [SPOILERS AHEAD] First, is the look: There is a saying, "if ain't broke, don't fix it." This is a look that worked before and now with an updated version, a new generation of the fans can love or learn to love.  Second, the personality traits: We all wished for it after watching DCEU's Man of Steel and Batman v Superman and Oh the quirky and fumbling Clark Kent is back!

REACTION | Supergirl and Flash Musical Crossover on The CW

Image
IGN  recently announced the news of a Supergirl and Flash musical crossover event. It's no secret that Supergirl's Melissa Benoist and Flash's Grant Gustin both have musical talents. Take a look below: It looks to be that Joss Whedon will be directing very similar to how he did it for Buffy. The premise will be using the villain, The Music Meister, to bring out the musical talents of Benoist and Gustin. When it comes to shows that have had a dramatic tone like Supergirl and Flash, one of two things may happen. Taking away nothing from the talents of either actor, either this episode will stick out or it will be refreshing. What do you think?

REACTION | When Guardians Meets Avengers

Image
IGN recently had an article regarding the  Guardians of The Galaxy  being involved in The Avenger Infinity War. Wow! We have come full circle as my very first post on  UrPersona  was about this. Imagine this dance while Star Lord is interacting with Iron Man resulting in this Star Lord and Iron Man suiting up at the same time and Drax and Captain America exchanging have a serious interaction that ends being a meta joke for the audience

TIDBIT | Injustice 2 Inspired By Suicide Squad

ANALYSIS | Kobe Bryant vs Will Smith's Deadshot

Image
Suicide Squad has started to clear out of the theaters alongside Kobe Bryant's career as a Laker. In the Instagram post above, Kobe announces that he is evolving from Basketball Player to Businessman. You know who is also a "business man" in Suicide Squad is Will Smith's Deadshot as the best hitman on the planet. Joking aside, what Kobe and Will share is the uncanny resemblance in these 2 photos. The shaved head with facial hair. Coincidence, I think not...

TIDBIT | Jason Mamoa's Aquaman v Mark Calaway's Undertaker

Image
This is my first post that is an analysis. It will be really brief, then let the commenting begin. Anyone notice that the DC Extended (or Cinematic as I am calling it) Universe's version of Aquaman has an eerily similar look to what we have seen before ... DCEU's Aquaman WWE's Undertaker Yes, the new Aquaman is definitely aggressive looking with the long black hair ... but let's give credit where credit is due. I love you all at DC, but somebody has some explaining to do.

REACTION | Batman on CW Arrowverse

Image
Original Post: http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/08/11/arrow-creator-confirms-no-plans-for-batman-characters-on-arrowverse-shows Reaction: Looking at how the CW Arrowverse was started with Arrow Season 1, you could already see the similarities between between Arrow and The Dark Knight Trilogy. The tones were nearly identical. Heck, even one of the actors appeared in both universes as nearly the same character. Both characters being corrupt businessmen: Chin Han as Mr Lau in The Dark Knight Chin Han as Frank Chen in Arrow For a minute, I forgot I was watching Arrow and thought I was watching The Dark Knight because of the similarities in visuals as well. It has been said that Green Arrow is The Batman for this CW Arrowverse. While that may be true, it would be definitely a treat to see both Green Arrow and Batman interact as Oliver Queen, Bruce Wayne and their alter egos. Now the powers that be may say STILL no Batman at this time. However, it all boils down to what

REVIEW | Funko Pop Clark Kent

Image
Holy Molay! I am very selective with the Funko Pops I collect which are primarily Iron Man and Superman related. Today on my usual stroll, I thought about how great it would be to have a Funko Pop for Clark Kent. Then behold ... walked into Hot Topic only to find that EXCLUSIVE Funko Pop I had been imagining become reality. It is already a RARE find and is potentially my best Superman figure. I honestly did not realized how rare this figure really is. It is also most likely because it says Clark Kent rather than Superman on the actual box.  Check it out: Stay tuned, I will continue to review my other Funko Figures!

TIDBIT | Lou and Aiden's All Things Comics, Action Figures and Heroes

Every now and then, I run across a site that has a similar mission statement to UrPersona with the same love I have for The World of Comics. This Facebook site is run by a Father and Son who create custom figures inspired by our Marvel and DC Superheroes and Supervillans, which are also featured on their site. The Father, Lou, also happens to work with one of my closest friends. Check out their site here:  https://www.facebook.com/LouandAidensBEHOLD/

TIDBIT | Tyler Hoechlin as Superman on Supergirl

Image
One of my recent posts was about Tyler Hoechlin as Superman on Supergirl . Included on there was artwork from the incredible Lord Mesa of what he might look like. Now we have an even better idea with this first studio pic and a couple of sets pics released on Twitter below: * Images are not owned by UrPersona, No Copyright Infringement Intended If these images did not satisfy your inner desires. Here are more  Supergirl set pics of Superman . I am so looking forward to seeing Stephen Amell's Green Arrow and Grant Gustin's Flash form their own Justice League with Tyler's Hoechlin's Superman. The possibilities of this Superman interacting with either Green Arrow or Flash brings goosebumps.

TIDBIT | Funko Pop The Dark Knight Returns

Image
Last month, I shared a link of what my Funko Pop Collection looked up to that point. Yesterday, I found out on Amazon that Funko is releasing the long overdue Pops for The Dark Knight Returns Comic Story Arc. If you have not heard about or read it yet, you can download it here . Let's a take look at these stylized and beautiful Funko Pops: Batman (Blue Costume) Batman (Black Costume) Batman (Armored Costume) Bruce Wayne (Armored Costume) Superman Robin (5th Version) The Joker Just take a look at that Joker Pop, it is the BEST version of him that I have seen in Pop form. From the White Suit to the detailed Green Hair, that is a can't miss pop is going in my collection!

TIDBIT | Funko Pop Collection and CW's Superman

Image
Do you remember those adorable Beanie Babies by TY that were the craze at the turn of the millennium? Pop Vinyls by Funko are now the latest trend for our collections. For me, I love collecting them for my Superhero Collection  mostly focused toward Iron Man and Superman. Also, by now, we know that Supergirl is now moving to the CW this fall to join the DC CW Universe (aka Flarrowverse) with Arrow, Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. What I am hoping for is that there will be Funko Pop for Tyler Hoechlin's Superman from Supergirl. Since at this time, we have not seen what his Superman could look like in the DC CW Universe, here's a preview from Lord Mesa  and therefore what this Funko Pop I so highly desire could look like as well:

REACTION | Injustice 2 Trailer

Image
Since April 2013, I have been awaiting the sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us. I originally owned the PS3 Edition then upgraded to the PS4 Ultimate Edition. Definitely has so much reply value. The PS4 Ultimate Edition included Stephen Amell's Arrow, which I could pit against Henry Cavill's Man of Steel. This is one my favorite matches. Looking back at the series of battles I have had switching between the controls of The Arrow and The Man of Steel, it definitely was a great combination of having a nostalgic and modern feel. Today, marked a milestone when finally the PS4 Trailer for Injustice 2 was unveiled after 3 years. Feast your eyes below: As we can see, Armor is MAJOR theme that looks to be happening with our heroes. Look at what you have done Iron Man to the World of Superheroes.

TIDBIT | Netflix's Daredevil vs CW's Green Arrow

Let's all admit this right now, Arrow Seasons 3 and 4 are far fetched from Seasons 1 and 2. It's more of fair assessment to compare Seasons 1 and 2 of Arrow and Daredevil, or more the versions of Arrow and Daredevil from those respective seasons. Stephen Amell portrays this version of The Green Arrow fairly well in the first two seasons of Arrow. Keep note, this version closer to Batman from The Dark Knight Trilogy. One reason being because CW cannot use the big guns such as Superman or Batman at this time, so they created their own version for their shared universe which now includes The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and more recently Supergirl. The Arrow definitely has the skills of comparable to a Kung Fu Master and a UFC Fighter. Charlie Cox portals this version of Daredevil who has a lot to live up to after the atrocity of a movie that was the 2003 Daredevil with Ben Affleck, who ironically now portrays the current Batman in the DC Cinematic Universe. This version of Dare

REVIEW | Legion of Collector's DCTV Box

Image
Funko did it again with this second entry into Legion of Collector's Box. A quick refresher is that the Legion of Collector's Boxes are the equivalent to a DC Loot Crate, a subscription based for anything DC Related from Figures to Comic Books. Let's take a look, shall we: Similar to the March 2016 Legion of Collectors Batman vs Superman Box, this one features Green Arrow on it. I am really loving the blue silhouettes. The Supergirl patch is more of interest to me, Melissa Benoist is finally getting recognized as The Girl of Steel. Funko has outdone itself from the last shirt, which was Batman vs Superman themed. This Arrow shirt with green font on black background is such a killer combination. Not really a big fan of having a real person on the comic book cover. This is the Tale of Two Cities story from the The Flash mythos with a Special Edition cover. Once Melissa Benoist being representing as Supergirl with this magnificent Rock Cand

TIDBIT | Daredevil's Elektra vs Arrow's Canary

We all know of the infamous Marvel vs DC rivalry. Today I would like to build upon that. I will take a neutral stance. Let's ride off the popularity of Netflix's Daredevil and CW's Arrow. This Tale of The Tape will pit two assassins against the other, Daredevil's Elektra vs Arrow's Canary: Elektra Real Name: Elektra Natchios Aliases: Elektra Affiliation: The Hand Romantic Partner: Matthew Murdock aka Daredevil Homecity: New York City Height: 5'9" Weight: 130 lbs Canary Real Name: Sara Lance Aliases: Canary, White Canary Affiliation: The League of Assassins Romantic Partner: Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow Homecity: Star City Height:

REACTION | 10 Radical Ideas to Save Arrow

WhatCulture's 10 Radical Ideas to Save Arrow  posses many great ideas for saving what many fans are now calling a lost show. If this were up to me, I would call out some of the best parts of Season 1 and Season 2 of Arrow and create a hybrid with the best parts of Season 3 and Season 4 of Arrow. We would have our highly choreographed fight scenes with more emotionally intelligent romantic relationships including the primary relationship in question with Oliver and Felicity. The intention of those fight scenes could even be to save the city as well as acquire piece of tech that Season 1 and 2 versions of Felicity would request for. After a successful mission acquiring said piece of tech, this should help balance the more emotionally driven versions of Felicity that we have seen in Season 3 and Seasons 4. Back to Basics, Team Arrow!

RANT | What Went Wrong With Batman Vs Superman

Image
Batman versus Superman, by critical consensus, is a bad movie. It's been called shoddy , scattered , self-important and tedious . But it there are plenty of people who loved it, and besides, who wouldn't? This is what we've been waiting for, Batman and Superman in the same movie! How can it be anything but awesome? I came away from the movie with a lot of the same complaints as the critics. Overall it was pretty bad, but I still enjoyed the hell out of the second half once the action got going.  I like bad movies. I'm interested in the craft of storytelling – film, fiction, whatever medium – so I find bad movies more instructive than good movies. A well-told story might show you what to when writing your own story, but a poorly told story will show you what NOT to do. That's a much more helpful lesson. And besides, inside every bad story is a good story waiting to be found. So let's check out what went wrong with Batman vs. Su
